Original Colour: Red First Owner : William Kelley, 11 Church Street, Stapleford, Notts Original Engine number : 836 AJ Original Registration number : not known. Current Reg number NSV 495 I have owned the parts of the car for over 40 years always with the intention of rebuilding it. This will not now happen so it becomes an opportunity for someone else to acquire a starter project at a reasonable cost and to gradually acquire the parts missing and carry out the work needed to complete either an original J2 or perhaps some sort of racing special. The following parts are included :- Brake cross shaft in good condition. Front axle beam. Rear axle casing. Rear bearing carriers and hubs. Front stub axles and hubs. Brake back plates.
Brake drums x 6. Brake shoes and other parts. MW steering column – requires work – new polished stainless column tube inc. Various chassis brackets, body mounts etc. Firewall support brackets x 4. Original J2 firewall for pattern only. Original J2 undertray for pattern only.
Original prop shaft – looks good. Pair of bonnet sides in good condition. Original under bonnet valences – need repair. Five good correct wheels with tyres. Original aluminium rear bonnet rests as patterns. PLEASE NOTE, I have never known the original registration number of this car but understand that the records for Nottingham are held at the Kithead Trust and that it is possible to search these for information. The original number is almost certainly a TV ???? number because we know of another J2 sold by the same MG dealer C H Truman& Co Ltd of Nottingham at about the same time. The car has a blue V5 registration document with a replacement registration number of NSV 495. A copy of the factory file on this car is also included but it does not show the original registration number. Buyer to inspect to satisfy themselves on the condition of the parts offered.
