Built by Wilkie Wilkinson for the Evans Brothers to promote their new racing business, to compete in the 1937 Empire trophy. Sold to Charles Mortimer in 1938, Wilkie remained involved with the car until the outbreak of war. In 1948 the car was entered in the first Goodwood Members meeting in the hands of new owner, Basil De Lisa. Basil fitted a Marshall Supercharger in 1949 and went on to campaign the car extensively in the UK and IOM, and twice more at Goodwood. NA0756 was discovered in poor condition and restored by Norman Hart in the 1970s, and went on to compete in Hill Climbs in the hands of Ian Baxter in the 2000’s. In 2015 the car was acquired by Michael Barber, as part of his pre-war MG collection and driven by Tom Hardman. During the last 6 years the car has returned to Goodwood numerous times, as well as Triple-M and VSCC racing. Looked after and developed by Ricketts Automotive; over the last 6 year the car has had a new crank, pistons, and the MG gearbox has been developed to be 100% reliable in recent times and the diff re-worked to cope with Goodwood high speed gremlins; much needed development which continued the work of the 1950’s. One of, if not the most campaigned of all pre-war MG single seaters, ready for her next chapter, on the button and ready to race across the globe, FIA HTP papers until 2028, and Monaco Historic eligible. The original engine block, front axle and other parts are included in the sale along with the original six carburettors.

Price 275,000 GBP (PX considered).
