The car was imported to Australia in 1974 by Phil Vickery from Barry Walker, and was subsequently sold on to Ed Ison, the car was in such poor condition that the first two owners did not go ahead with any sort of restoration. Harry Hickling of Peking to Paris fame in his 1934 MG SA purchased the car in 1996 and started a serious restoration with the work performed by Historic & Vintage Restorations (HVR) in Melbourne Victoria. There is no known history of the car prior to it coming to Australia. The restoration by HVR included all new engine block, crankshaft, pistons and rods and all new overhead gear. The ENV preselector was fully restored. Body panels and timber framework was refurbished or replaced as necessary. All the instruments completely refurbished. Full leather seats and interior trim, full length tonneau black stayfast hood and side screens, as new 18 inch 48 spoke wire wheels and Blockley tires.
