Hi Everyone. As many of you will have seen in various publications some time back, I have been looking for someone/company to take over the SPARES side of my business. Well, I'm happy to advise that I have been successful in finding the right people to carry on the service I have offered you for the last 45 years. There will be an official announcement in the motoring press in tandem with this posting. I shall continue to be around until Christmas helping with the transition, answering your e-mails and phone calls, but introducing you to the new staff. Many may rejoice, others may not, but its been good fun all the way.
I'm not retiring (fully) but have RETAINED the car sales side of my business and shall be continuing with the purchase, sale and refurbishment of all pre-war OHC MGs together with the TA/B/C models. My e-mail, address and phone No. will REMAIN THE SAME, so don't hesitate to call me if you need any advice on any subject connected with our wonderful little cars.
The new people will grow and expand the business with in-house engineering facilities and later full servicing facilities for all ohc MGs. The full range of new parts will be maintained at better prices and parts that have not been available will be added to the range, together with probably the last full secondhand parts service.
I would like to take this oppotunity to thank the hundreds of loyal customers that have bought from me over the many, many years I've been involved in this enthalling business. I can assure you that if it wasn't for mine and your enthusiasm I would never have managed it for so long. THANK YOU ALL.
Remember, as specialists, if you ever want to sell your elderly MG, or buy another one, we will offer you the very best marketing and sales service you'll find anywhere. Sue, Jimmy and I look forward to helping you with any car enquiries.

Best wishes to you all, Barry & Sue Walker.

Hi Barry and Sue,

Best wishes for the future, thank you for the help over the years in the supply those hard to find original parts for the MMM cars.

Hope to see you both at the PreWar MG Register of Australia National Rally to be held on the sunny coast of northern NSW at Yamba in October 2017.

cheers

I'll certainly miss visiting and prowling through your boxes of spares at the shop or your stands at Beaulieu, always such a treat to discover a treasure or two. Welcome to semi retirement and best of luck with future car sales, but Barry, you can still count on me picking your brain on occasion!

Dear Barry, and Sue
All the best for the new business, and many thanks over the many years for the support, discussions, many treasured hand written letters, hard to get (some near impossible) parts, and saving my PB from being off the road at least twice with crucial parts.
I feel I have met you, but actually haven't.
Just in case and for preservation of history, I will keep and continue to enjoy my favourite original Pre-War MG Parts Centre catalogue, complete with one remaining unused order form.
Kind regards

Dear All,

As Barry has indicated his business has been sold and is now part of 'Blue Diamond Riley Services Limited' and will trade as 'The MG Automobile Company'.

Initially the business will continue to trade from Barry's current premises whilst a new purpose built workshop and showroom are fitted out at Bicester Heritage in Bicester. Full details of this will be posted once the work is completed.

The press release on the sale can be found in this link http://us12.campaign-archive2.com/?u=d5cec2ec2520baa140c9ec0a7&id=6fcc509d1a&e=7c4b3d2280

My background from a vintage car perspective is with mainly with the Riley brand as my father has owned a 1935 Riley Imp since 1955, we also have a 1928 Humber 9/20 in the family. Prior to the purchase the MG connection was more modern as I have a 1975 MG B GT V8, however, in order to make sure I understand and can enjoy some pre-war MG motoring I recently purchase an F Magna.

I believe all old cars should be regularly exercised and used in anger, to this effect I have completed over 9,000 miles this year in a 1931 Riley 9 War Department Tourer - 1,600 of these were driven in four days during the Monte Carlo Classique Rally in January of this year.

The team and I look forward to helping new and old customers and growing and expanding the business. Should anyone have any questions or concerns please e-mail me directly.

Hello John and welcome to the world of Triple-M Forum, welcome also to the ownership of a Triple-M car with the purchase of the F Magna.

I am pleased to note you have purchased Barry Walker's spares business, it is a good to know the business will run by a company already very experienced in providing a service to Riley owners.

I wish you success and at the same time wish Barry and Sue all the best in the future.

George

Ps:- I am sub Registrar for the F/L/N types and would ask if you could to let me have the details of the F Magna for our records.

First, Dear Barry,

I'm glad to hear that you've successfully passed on the spares business and I wish you well of course with your continuing "whole car" interests. Thanks a bunch for all the help you've given me in the past and all the best.

Secondly, Dear John,
Well well, what a fun first Triple-M purchase - my first MG was an F1 Magna which I bought for £5! I wonder where it is now? (Road Plate MG1430). Anyway, welcome to the gang of friends and I wish you well with the business.

Bob, MG 1430 was last recorded as in the UK with a lady owner, but no address details, I'm sorry to say...

Graham

Hi Barry,
I just read your post. I'd like to thank you for the help over the years (since 2006 when I got my MG Pa 1121) in the supply the parts for the little car. You've been always very kind, always willing to help and giving advices: very useful advices particularly for me living in Italy, a country where prewar cars are not so widespread.
Best regards
