Hi everyone, Is anyone interested in attending the 2018 Classic Le Mans, travelling by MMM MG. I thought of following the route detailed by Mark Hollis in SF Oct 2016. The plan could be to leave Dover Wed 4 July, 6,7&8 July at Le Mans, Arrive back Dover 10 July. This suggestion allows 2 days travel each way in France. I am thinking of going, but a squad (convoy or whatever) would be more fun. Best regards. Chris. Chris Little NB

Hi Chris, I don't think you'll be disappointed with my route. I would gladly join you, but this time I'm going in my RV8 - accompanied by Mrs H. More comfortable I'm told...
Have a good trip, and if you want any further pointers, email me.
Bests, Mark

Hi Mark, Thanks for that and I'll certainly be contacting you. I plan to tour in Normandy earlier in the year and was going to find my way about, if only how to get out of Calais!!! Best regards, Chris

Personally I prefer Portsmouth Caen. It's a much shorter, prettier route through France down the old road that avoids such horrors as built up areas like Rouen etc. that's the way I go when I go down there. it's a 90 mile journey from memory.

Portsmouth to St. Malo is our favoured route as it's easier to get away from St.Malo than Caen. Both are lovely routes. Also Britany Ferries have a superb waiter service restaurant on the night ferries. The holiday starts there ! Graham |

Colin and Graham, Thanks for these really good calls. Portsmouth departure means that the trip could run 5 to 9 July which may suit people with time constraints wanting to join the party, and no need for overnight stops in France on the way. Mark, I'd like to know about where you stayed near Le Mans. Could you e mail me on chris.little22@outlook.com Many thanks, Chris.
