The Triple-M Register committee has undertaken a detailed review of the basis on which the Register compiles and maintains the Listing of Cars. This has been prompted in part by the vibrant and occasionally challenging discussions on the Forum over the past few months about these and related matters. It is also a response to apparent misconceptions in the broader motoring community about the Register and the relevance of the Listing of Cars. This review, in which each and every committee member has been involved, started 3 months ago and was the main business at our latest committee meeting on 26 November 2017. As a result the committee unanimously approved the following two documents on the 1st December 2017:- 1. A public statement which we will be circulating widely as a reminder about the purpose, function and operation of the Register. This Statement will be displayed shortly on this website. (Note: it is now displayed as a News Item.) It will also be published in the Register Bulletin, in the Annual Listing of Cars and in the MGCC's Safety Fast! magazine. 2. An updated, somewhat simplified and we hope a clearer presentation of the purpose, objectives and operation of the Register, which includes amended Guidelines for the inclusion of cars on the Register. This document, which replaces the previous Guidelines with immediate effect, can be seen at the following page on our website http://www.triple-mregister.org/registerlogin.asp The committee is responsible to the MGCC and its members for the proper management of the Register. If any MGCC member would like to discuss any points of principle or detail arising from the statement or the new Guidelines they should contact the Chairman, Dick Morbey or the Secretary, George Eagle directly in the first instance. Dick and George's contact details are on the contacts page of our website. Individual committee members will not be drawn into public discussions on the Forum about these matters. However in a spirit of openness, members will have many opportunities over the coming months to meet or contact committee members, when we will be happy to discuss these and any other matters, all of which are all aimed at advancing the Register for the general benefit of members. And of course any members of the MGCC (the Marque of Friendship) who as owners are also members of the Triple-M Register, are welcome to attend the Register's AGM when we will have the usual open forum after the formal business of the AGM. Thank you for your understanding.

Dick,
At first glance, the revised Guidelines are an enormous improvement on what went before and, to my mind at least, better reflect the original purpose of the Register.
Thank you.

The new Guidelines now appear to provide for the impact of time and wear on 85 year old cars. They accept that structural changes, part substitutions and alterations do not affect the provenance of Triple-M cars with a claim to have, in part or whole, originated from the Abingdon factory in period.
The Register also appears to be structured to record cars with complex, and possibly non-traditional histories which, by the integrity of their design and construction, support and enhance the Triple-M MG brand.
They deserve our support.
