Is red P type with Reg No BDD 505 still with us? Still listed by DVLA but as far as I can see not on the Register.

I have dug up a short cine film shot on 16mm film using a gun camera from a Hellcat that my father brought back from WW2, back in the mid 70s we mounted it to the front bumper of my brother's Ford Anglia with a 12v power supply switched from the dashboard and drove around Newcastle upon Tyne city filming until the cassette ran out of film. Down Northumberland St passing constables on point duty, Westgate Road and very briefly on Osborne Road, Jesmond passing a red P type.

The quality is most certainly not HD but it may amuse any current owner of BDD 505.

Any clues would be appreciated.

You say Richard that the quality is not HD. Every gun camera film I've ever seen is decidedly awful. Don't tell me this is a little better?

The Registration BDD 505 is on the Register as being for PA2236.

There has been no recent information on PA2236 so we do not know if it has survived.

Dave, dreadful quality, I have some B&W active service footage over the Straits of Malacca which I must say is better than the colour film shot in the 70s.

George, I take it the current Register lists P2236, my 2014 printed copy doesn’t. DVLA has BDD 505 as first registered 1936 and I did assume therefore PB. Shame no further info.
