Some of you may have noticed a thread entitled 'Kimber House accounts 2017' which was started yesterday.
We have decided to take the thread down, not because there was anything inaccurate in it, but because circulation of the financial information it contained is restricted to paid up members of the MG Car Club.
Anybody can view our forum postings and even if postings are (as in this case) now placed in a 'members information' area of the Forum, many forum members - meaning any forum user who has applied to make postings to the Forum - may not be MGCC members!
MGCC members can access a members only area of the main Club website - see http://www.mgcc.co.uk/members/login/ in which a wide variety of information relevant to members can be viewed, including material shared at meetings of the Council. So in a sense we were duplicating that and at the same time giving unintendedly wide circulation to material that is not intended for general release. That's why the thread has been withdrawn. Sorry!
I apologise for this convoluted commentary. I stress that we are not operating behind a veil of secrecy, we are merely conforming with the Club's long-standing reasonable requirements.
