Hi All,
From The Hawke History of MMM Competition Cars there is a reference to K3004 being advertised for sale in The Autocar by Rowland Motors, Byfleet on or around 21/5/43.
Subsequently on 1/12/50 the was an advertisement for K3 Wanted in Autosport by Jim Gullan.
I am putting together a pictorial history of K3004 and have been unsuccessful in locating these adverts by using a search engine.
Would appreciate any help in filling in this gap.
Also any info on the Mr May from Weybridge who owned the car between 1943 and when it was purchased by Jim Gullan in the early 1950s. I have a copy of the response by Mr May's brother Edward R May that was published in Motorsport confirming K3004 was owned by his brother in that period.
many thanks

I have all Autocars covering the war years (kindly donated to me by Jay Hall once upon a time), so will have a rummage through the basement when I have a minute! |

This might be the May family, listed in 1939, and associated with a motor engineering firm. What was the Mr Mays first name ?

Hi David,
I think you may be on the right track as the brother (Edward R May) of Mr May of Weybridge wrote to Motorsport in March 1978 stating his brother now deceased owned the car between 1943 and 1950 when he sold it to Jim Gullan. See below for extract from Motorsport P53.
From my basic search Alan May (b1903) died in 1972 at Hailsham, Sussex, this would fit with what was written in Motorsport. Alan May raced 30/98 Vauxhalls. Found one record for 1947 at Gransden (United Kingdom),
I will have to learn more about UK, birth, death and Marriage records.
many thanks ross kelly

I think Allard's wife was Eleanor May, sister, born 1912 and the marriage (and photos) was 1936.
