Back in the 1980s I purchased the chassis ID plates of several MMM cars in Adelaide South Aus . I have been able to reunite several cars with their plates the one remaining is PA 1459 . Does anyone know if this car still exists . Thanks John |

Hello John, Unfortunately, all we know about this car is that it was manufactured on 6 September, 1934 and was immediately exported via Morris Industries Exports to pastures unknown . The Register has never had a record of any owner - not even the first owner, so any information that you can glean would be immensely helpful to us. Could you in the meantime kindly e-mail me offline with a photograph of the guarantee plate, which if nothing else, we can add to the Triple-M Register's archive records for this car . Many thanks

Hi John and Dick.
PA 1459 1761AP. Imported Sept 35. First owner recorded as G Lamming. Vic rego 73-842. 08Sept 35. No body type recorded. Registered on 27Feb37 as 29-992 and again as AP192 (date not recorded).
Can you pm me with another plate details you have? Interesting that it ended up in South Australia. The engine is currently with (not in!) PA 0486 with Andrew Barnett. I would have to check whether that was the engine with the car when he dismantled it. Only 7 of the Lanes P types are "Lost" of the 35 known to be imported. Not a bad survival rate!
The ones that are "lost" are: PA 1292 (the Murphy GP car),PA 483 (Guarantee plate with Andrew Barnett), PA 488, PA 1295, PA 1425 and PA 1426. PA 1291 was also thought lost but the Guarantee plate was recently reunited with the dumb iron knuckle....
Regards,
Andrew
