Does anyone have any carb parts surpless to requirements? I am looking for a damper piston to fit one J2 carb.

Hi Bob try Tony Hebdon on 0114 2351963 he rebuilds carbs in particular MG he rebuilt my carbs and has amassed a good supply of parts.

In theory this is a bad idea. The piston is meant to be matched to the dash pot so you really need both.

If you can't get anything in the uk I may be able to help but would need dimensions to be sure

Just to clarify; it is the big piston that goes into the dashpot you are after, rather than the little damper on the end of the rod that goes down into the piston?

thr most interesting point is the weight in gramm and the number
cast in the piston to find the second to a pair,

Bob,

It also depends on whether you have 1” OM carbs or the 1 1/8” HV ones. This table (tidied up by Bruce Sutherland!) summarises the results of a small survey I did on this a few years ago.
