No, not tyre pressures! but found some 1967 "Motor Sport" magazines (10p each at an NT property)The go-to in those days if looking to buy, or sell, more interesting cars. I had forgotten how comparatively affordable they were, PA/PB,J2,VA,SA,etc. all between £100 and £200. Inflation apparently since then is times 18, so, a nice little MG for about £2,000. Most expensive was a gorgeous Bugatti type 44 sports at £3,000 (£54,000 now).Dream on. I was probably earning about £1,000 a year then. Simon C. |

With the help of MGCC I bought my L tourer in 1965, for wait for it ---£ 65 it was running , just, and I drove it home to Sweden. Only mishap was a puncture about 10 miles from home.

In 1967 you could buy a nice pre-war semi for £3,000 - just to put that into Bugatti context. How would that have gone down with the new wife ??
In 1967 my M cost £30 & I was robbed. And my non running VA was another £30. It had been traded in for a set of new tyres for a racing Mini-Cooper ! |
