In the last Bulletin, it was mentioned that Ed and Marguerite are bringing their J3s to Europe this year, and Ed is suggesting a J3 gathering in the UK. With the demise of MG Silverstone, how about Peter Greens BBQ? If we can add all the roadworthy Uk based J3s to the two Antipodeans it would probably be the largest ever gathering of these rare cars. How about it J3 owners? David J3768 |

Hello David. Speaking for Nev Churcher (J3755), you can count him in. He and I are intending to be at Peter's do anyway. I am afraid that J3755 will not be on the road by that time, but I know that Nev will be excited to see a number of J3s together.

Great idea! I'll attend if at all possible, but don't count on Hammy's car being there. Other than Nev's bits in the mid-'70s, I've never seen another J3!

David,
I would be delighted if the proposed J3 Gathering took place at this years Summer Gathering on Sunday 7th July.

Dave and Peter, thanks heaps for spreading the message and allowing a few J3's to mix in with the M type party. It will be great to catch up with Nev again so thank you Colin. Fingers and toes crossed, the two J3's should be docking in the UK about now. Ed J3762 |

Dave. It is held at Peter Green's home in Farnham Royal, a mile or two north of Slough on the Beaconsfield Road. I am sure that Peter will read this and arrange for an Entry Form to be sent to you. As a matter of interest, Nev Churcher (J3755) is also planning to bring his car (or large chunks of it) along on a trailer.

An update on the proposed J3 gathering at Peter Green's. It looks like we will have up to 6 of the 19 known surviving cars attending, they being: J3755 Nev J3756 Marguarette J3758 Dave R J3762 Ed J3768 David K J3772 Ian It is also likely that at least one other owner will be there without his car. It is essential that everyone intending to come sends in an official entry, as mentioned by Peter, and explained in Dick's recent posting.
Please also keep me informed of your intentions on j3david.kempton@gmail.com, and I will update this forum posting as info comes in. Peter has agreed to arrange that we all park together, and I will bring some signage and some info on the cars, both general and car-specific. Other relevant material, such as history, parts, awards also welcome. David J3768 |

I do plan to be there, hopefully with family, but we are due to be at Land's End by 8:30m the next morning, so our presence may be brief!

David. It is looking less and less likely that Nev will be able bring J3755 to the gathering. Some of us were hoping that he would be able to arrange for a trailer to collect the car from Gosport and return it at the end of the day. However for one reason or another Nev has gone off the idea but he will bring a few photographs for participants to look at.

Hi J3 owners. It now looks like we may be down to 5 cars, maybe even 4. That would mean that the Aussies have mustered as many cars as us, which we cannot let happen, surely. Please try to get your J3 to Peter's, even if incomplete, so we can put on a memorable show for our home and overseas visitors, from as far as Australia and the USA. Not all Triple M owners are aware that our cars held every long distance speed record in period, were the fastest production MG road (not racing) cars until the MGA, the only catalogued blown road MG until the Metro, etc, Let's blow our combined trumpets, to drown out all the Volumexed J2s. Previous owners also welcome to join in the banter. regards David J3768 |
