Thanks for the offer Brian; it does look original but I'm unsure from the photo that it is Lucas ST51 as the writing is obsured. Along with the required re-chroming and repainting, along with conversion to LED the price is going to look expensive. I'll have a think about it thank you

Chris, It is indeed an ST51, but I can't tell whether it is a Lucas manufactured one. There are a number of reproductions that were made over the years. If you are interested, I manufacture LED light boards for the ST51 and 21 other models. They are unique to the individual lamp, not a "one size fits all". See www.brittrix.com

Hi Lew, yes I have looked at your LED's and they are nice but expensive compared to just replacing the bulbs as is

Chris,
I don't know if it's original but I do know it came to me in this condition about forty years ago. Although not visible in the first picture, it's stamped "LUCAS BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND" below the upper rivet and you can just see it has the remains of "MADE IN ENGLAND" just visible at the bottom. I can't see any reference to "ST51" but it looks exactly like the reproductions I've seen on line.
Anyway, it's here if you want it.

John,
I'd be happy to let you have it if Chris doesn't want it.
Chris,
Could you let me know either way, please?
Thank you.

Chris,
I don't think it's fair to keep John hanging around on this. So, if I don't hear from you by the end of today I'll assume you don't want the lamp and I'll sell it to John.

ah, Thanks for that Ian. I actually go to the Newark show regularly but Tony doesn't have any split-faced ST51's left now having finished making any new pieces when I asked him in July. The Octagon have some in stock though. So sorted now ta
