As a relief from the recent wind and rain and browsing through about 180 pages of really fascinating photos of 1930's motoring events taken by Bill Brunel in Roy Bacon's book there were nearly 30 triple M cars visible. As a matter of passing interest I checked their registration numbers and was surprised that of the 23 visible numbers only 4 seem to be on the register. Surprising in view of the relatively high survival rate of these cars. These are PA(AAX 773),K(LJ 9000), and NA's JB4608 and 4750. Ah well. Simon C. |

Some of these cars could now be abroad with different registration numbers. So probably not all of the26 are "dead" |

Some of the captions of the photographs are incorrect! I think there was a corrected list in a VSCC magazine at one time with the corrected captions!

Mike and Forum:
If you can find the article details, I would like to know. I am sure other forum members feel the same. All the best.

Yes, I saw some incorrect captions including a very unAustin Austin. Good pics of Kitty Brunel in her MG Magna but no reg numbers visible. I always love all the surrounding detail and what people wore. Hats all round for the chaps! Simon C.

Mike and all,
The list to which you are referring was published as a letter from Bryan Goodman in VSCC Bulletin 220, page 53, Autumn 1998. The list of about sixty errors was prepared by Bryan Goodman, Peter Hull, John Willis and Desmond Peacock. There was also a follow-up letter in Bulletin 221 page 56 from George Brooks adding four more corrections.
