Hi!
I have finally got round to starting work on my 1931 M-Type, which has been in the family for over 50 years!
I live just outside of Westbury in Wiltshire and was wondering if there was any one nearby to me who has an up and running M-Type that wouldn't mind a visit, so that I can see what I am aiming for and also chat over some of the more technical problems that I may encounter.
I am sure a visit would encourage me to work on the car a quicker pace!
Many Thanks,

Dave,
Can't say I live locally - I'm in Glasgow but I do have many 'photos of M Types. These are not of cars posing but show constructional details. If you need any just email me and I will see if I can help.
Cheers

Jan,
Thanks! As I get more involved in the project I will email you if I need any particular photographs.
It's quite strange that you have replied from Glasgow as my M-Type was first registered in Glasgow on the 11th December 1931. I am in the process of contacting the Kithead Trust to see if they have any of the original registration documents.
Thanks again,

Dave,
I am a little more local than Glasgow - Monmouthshire, with 2 'M's'. One is running, one is not far off. Do feel free to contact me if you wish to arrange a visit.

Tom,
Thanks! The offer of a visit is really appreciated. I will contact you by email if I wish to make a visit. It's really good to know that there are other 'M' Types up and running nearby.
Thanks,

Hi Dave,
Well - I live nearer than Denmark - Westwood near B-O- A and am rebuilding my P-type - which will not be much use to you but if you need to view another frightening pile of parts or fancy a pint in the pub next door - give me a ring - we're in the book.

Hi Mike,
I will be in contact, seeing another pile of MG bits will prove that I am not alone! And the offer of a pint is also encouraging!
Many Thanks,

Hello Mike,
I am in East Hampshire with 2M3175 which I put pack together in 1962 and have been doing a rolling re-build ever since. It was registered in early 1932. It must be similar to yours. Let me know if I can help

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply, I will be in touch.
The cars seem very similar in age, mine was first registered on 11th December 1931. In fact my father in law, a mechanic, did most of the work to the car in the early 1960's, so it sounds as if they have a lot in common.
Thanks again,

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the reply, it is good to know that there is another M-Type nearby. It would be good to meet up and share some stories.
Apologies to everyone else who I have been meaning to contact, but I have been a bit distracted with holidays and kids returning to school etc!
I will be in contact as soon as things have calmed down as I need a bit of inspiration to get me going!
Thanks,
Dave M-Type 2M 3248 |

Greetings to all: I like Dave, am in the process of rebuilding my 1932 M-Type (2M3295), and would love to visit anyone who has one, but unfortunately I live in Mobile Alabama, USA. It would be helpful however, if anyone could send pictures of their rebuild. Thanks. Jim |
