I have come across a remote gear change. It...
Has a P Type turret with the reverse interlock,
Clearly fits the J type Wolseley box?
Is 2? shorter than the J remote? Mod for an early D perhaps?
It is cast aluminium, bulky and semicircular in cross section.
anyone know what it is?
No photo,
my Flickr instructions fail at para 4 on getting the URL of the picture... No item 2 to click on!
Cheers

If it is not of MG manufacture, it might be by V.W.Derrington, who made a large range of remote controls and accessories for various cars in the mid-'thirties.
Their adverts, always containing plenty of MG material, are to be found in 'The Autocar', for instance.

I am just guessing but it sounds like a Wolseley remote to me.

Thanks so far, Everybody.
Pictures should arrive shortly.
Yes Bob, I expect you are on the right track, I have seen nothing like this before though.
Cheers

Good evening, The remote is a Wolseley with a P-Type turret grafted on. I have another if you want to start a collection. Regards, Garry |

Here is an example in use on an M-type "12/12" copy.
