The bonnet length looks more 6 cylinder length to me, but I'm still at the bottom of my MMM Learner Curve :)

Has to be a six cylinder. Note the fact that the bonnet louvers run the full length of a rather long bonnet. Yet 8 inch brakes. F???

The bonnet sides look like F. The near side front wing looks F1. Could be in the process of being converted to F2 . Note the headlight supports, they look as if they would support cycle wings. Is the near side one bolted to the top of the wing?

Is smoking a pipe while fiddling with a fuel can considered good practice? Must have been taken in the 1960s! Mike |

Here's a comparison with a J2 from a similar angle. The bonnets look to me to be a fairly similar length.
Lew, the J2 does have louvres all along, in two batches, a long one in the engine bay & a shorter one over the footwell.
The rad doesn't look to me to have sufficient rake to it for an F and, as far as the front wing goes John yes, you may be right, but Brian Galbraith's J2 has such an arrangement. I don't suppose the person who fitted them was the only one who didn't like being sprayed with mud.
An engine photo would be nice, but I guess impossible.

Dave, That's what I get (deserve?) for not ever having a F, or any other 6 cylinder MMM MG. Would anyone like to aid in my education by selling me their restoration project? <grin>

My guess would be J2 - to me the radiator does not look to be F or L.

Taking another look the inner part of an F1 front wing comes up to the end of the dumb iron, this one doesn't and the front end should be more pointed..The headlight brackets / wing supports do look J2
