Hi,

Out of interest, is there anyone else on this forum that, like me, is on the waiting list for P Type cranks from Phoenix?

I would be interested to make contact!

Cheers,

Barny

Hi Barny,
Try Nuyts in Antwerp Belgium,
superb quality and short time of delivery, they also make
conrods.
Nuts uses VW plain bearings for the big ends,

My F crank and rods were made by this company, and their quality is excellent. The big ends are VW shells

Just to add to this topic. Phoenix were not interested in making me a crank for the F in 2003.
Peter Gregory, sadly no longer with us, sorted me out with a new crank and rods from Nuyts. I seem to remember he got all his new cranks and rods from them, as they were reasonably quick and good value, I won't say cheap because these items aren't.

Nuyts make P type cranks in 83mm, 86mm, and 90mm strokes. K3 in 83mm, 86mm.

looks like a good alternative. Thanks Carl & John.

Sorry for the delay in replying : yes I received mine (ordered at the end of last December) a couple of weeks ago. By way of apology for the long wait they very kindly waived the courier charges. As I understand it, this was one of a larg-ish batch.

I'm considering a Phoenix crank but it doesn't fit well in my PA budget. Why are they so expensive?

Is the Pheonix crank shell or babbit bearings? or can one choose?

Ditto the Nuyts?

Phoenix crank and rods are shell bearings. How you do the mains is up to you.
Nuyts crank an rods are shells as well, he also converts the block and bearing cheeses to shells.

Ask yourself what is more expensive, crank and rods or crank rods and a block after something failed an punched a hole in the block
