I don't expect anyone would have one they could let me have but failing that Can someone help with a drawing for the spigot that should secure the rear of the layshaft in my J2 gearbox? I think I can make one by turning down a 1/4BSF Bolt and I think the spigot end would be at 3/16” dia. but I don't know:
a.how long the threaded part needs to be and
b. how long the spigot needs to be - does it continue into the housing on the 'far' side of the layshaft (which would seem to be a better engineered solution) or stop in the layshaft itself.
V grateful for any answers (or a photo?) - my gearbox didn't have one fitted at all but I think that means that the layshaft could therefore a) rotate and b) move forwards. Not that it seemed to do it any harm.

Mine shows 3/16" and is like this, for a PA. Should it be hardened? I would guess so as if it sheers it would be a pain to get the layshaft out?
