Hi there, does anyone have any info and preferably a map of the original BMC&CC Hill Climb at Dancers End in Tring? 1936 to 39 ish?

Mark and Forum:

Have you tried the archive of Motor Sport?
Very user friendly with lots of articles and photographs.
All on line.
Hope this helps.

Page 23 of the book "Motorsport Explorer" by Julian Hunt has diagram and a picture at the usual place, the hairpin left. I tried to find it a couple of years ago and its almost disappeared, overgrow. I believe it always only had a loose surface.

Mark, I have quite a lot of stuff about Dancer's End but am too busy today to deal with it. Tomorrow perhaps - or perhaps not. I have maps of the place, and a splendid magazine article which has diagram of the course and details of the timing system used. Also several years worth of entries and results, plus a few photographs. I have visited the course several times but it is very private and would involve trespass. Not a good idea. I will write again a.s.a.p.
