Reading some posts recently around the topic of what is the spirit of MG, now, and before, alliances, groups, and clubs, and dare I say, the politics.
We may be able to get a picture of this if we can answer - what is the magic of MG?. I often go back to reading the wonderful book by this name by Mike Allison, to remind me.
For me, it is the independent creative design spirit that resulted in the most beautiful functional designs, ever. This spirit was best, but not only, defined in the Triple-Ms. Very much the just do it attitude.
Being a Kiwi, I believe the original McLaren Cars would be in a similar vein, having become a large organisation today, and hopefully retaining that creative collaborative design spirit that started it.
McLaren film out now, hope there is an MG one to follow!
