Some time ago this M-type was sold on eBay. It was a very complete early car. Does anyone know what became of it?

Sam and Forum:

DVLA website site states it's know and on the road.
So; its out there and well.
Hope this helps.

John Emmett rebuilt it as a Le Mans car. No doubt he'll fill in the blanks himself when he sees this thread. Some of us saw it soon after completion at a PWMN gathering.

The Register lists the car as 2M0687, very recently issued Triple-M Register number 3606, and owner John Emmett.

Thanks to all. It is good to hear the car is back on the road.

Here is a Malcolm Eades image of the car taken at a PWMN spring pub meet earlier this year. Alongside is Keith Durston's Midget.

Interestingly Sam, 0687 does have the chassis brake pedal bracket that you were asking about earlier, rather than the brake pedal being on an extended clutch pedal shaft.

There were few M's built in Oxford after that one in October 1929, and I'm not sure when Abingdon got up to speed in 1930, but I would guess the accelerator pedal moved to the right and the transmission brake disappeared around that time.

I wonder what John Emmett did with the mudguards - I could maybe use them to create some Shinio look alike mudguards. How could I contact him through this website?

You could also look John E up on the contacts page, whereon you'll find him listed as the sub-registrar for the J2 model!
