Just because a car looses a body doesn't meant its "disassembled". It's a racing car bits change . J4004 body was on j4003 in c.1943. It's a known fact 004 was still competing in 1954 so wasn't disassemble prior to 1950 as you say

Fair enough, Olli. I was just reporting what was in the NAMMMR file, some of which was given to me by Bob Clare when he was the Registrar.

It's possible the previous owner may have misremembered the exact dates.
