 MG on High Street Royston

I have just spotted this picture on eBay showing an MG on the High Street in Royston. Is that a 'WZ' registration? Is the car pre War ?

Nice photo - if only our roads were that clear today!

I think the car looks to be a T type?

Given the large advertising sign for Picture Post the date of the photo must be 1938 or later, so a T-type is a possibility. Looking at it on Street View most of the visible buildings - especially on the right - have been demolished and replaced, but you can still place it exactly. The building on the extreme right with the fancy brickwork is the Old Bull Inn and the Picture Post sign is on the wall of what is now Rolph Garden and Pet Supplies - the green-painted shopfront on the left.
