Good day Raymond and welcome to the forum.

I am not 'the' expert on headlamps but I have done my homework on those used on the D, J and F-types in particular.

Basically there isn't one specific headlamp that you could use for your F1 tourer.

Primarily, the Rotax K624 (or K624/2) and or the Lucas L140 and the L150's for slightly better/bigger brightness.
Your lamps would have been body colour and not chrome, but they could still be used if you like chrome for sure.

I have sold nearly 2 dozen L140 and L150's lamps over the past few years, all being originals that have been particially restored or fully. If you contact me on chris.blood60@outlook.com I just may be able to help ... but do please do your own verification checking too. What chassis number is yours, this can give you an indication to what could have been used in the first place?

Hi Chris
Thanks ever so much for the speedy response.
Very enlightening info
I need to get the chassis number from the chap who's doing the restoration (which is very near to completion)
I will post you the number as soon as i have it
Thanks again

Raymond,

From Chris's recommendations I would vote for the Rotax K624 as looking the best on an F-Type. They are available new from several sources including a very high quality replica from Vintage Headlamp Restoration. No connection other than I like their quality.

Tom is quite correct, the K624's are the best looking but come at a price, £1,200 to £2,500 depending on the originality, but good fully restored L140's with flat glass similar to the K624's can be sold between £300 -£750

Thankyou all for the responses, again very enlightening info and much appreciated
Re the question from Chris about the chassis number, I've found some paperwork which indicates the number is F1310,
I'm quite confident this is correct (I've owned the car since about 1963)
Thanks again

Hi George
I have some photos of my car (some of them dating back to the 60s) I also have a few from the restoration progress (from a couple of months ago)
They're not yet in digital format (i will get them scanned this weekend and post them up early next week)
Thank you for contacting me
