Now wouldn't that match your P-type just perfectly, Graham?!

It would seem that the original registration number was ALH 540. At least that is what has been recorded in Triple M Registers since Day One.

Perhaps I can request a 25% discount off a fortune.

Splendid work from Tommm. No wonder he is always smiling.

Brian.

Wow! What a lovely car. I wonder how much they are asking?

The last time I saw it was at the late Peter Gregory’s workshop, it was totally original but needed rebuilding. I could have purchased it but Did not do so as at the time I had NA0960 as well as the L2.

When I spoke to Peter again I was told Len Starr had purchased the car.

You're right about the number plate, Brian. The car actually has the correct reg plate but was mistakenly swapped with incorrect one by the photographer.

This K2 hain't gonna be cheap, but it sure does GO, and has all the original goodies.

This is rather a neat way to store the jack.

I see from the Parts List that this is referred to as a 'jack carrier' and it was superseded from K2016 by a toolbox mounted on brackets affixed to the firewall and the scuttle (rather than hung on the cross braces).

Yes the K2 has been sold. The new owner is ecstatic but very private and I'm not sure he will want it known to the world. I'm trying to find out if he would be bothered by giving us his details.

Hi Tom

I note you have been to Amelia Island in sunny Florida - did you enter the K2 in the concours? After all you do have a very good record with the Triple-M cars you have entered in past years.

George
Sunny here today by way of a change.

Hi George,

The K2 had been accepted to Amelia Island Concours but the new owner did not want the car there. However, we were very fortunate this year. Bill Warner requested a Pre-War MG class, and eight of the nine cars in the class were Triple-M cars. A beautiful grey TA Tickford owned by Triple-M member Jack Simpson was the odd car out.

Brenda Benzar won Best in Class with her Bellevue Garage NA trials car BLL492 (with thanks to Oliver for spec help)

Typically, if warranted in the class, there is one other award - the Amelia Award. This time there were actually two awarded as follows:

Bill Richey, Amelia Award for his 1933 L1 cop car
Reed Tarwater, Amelia Award for his 1933 J2

Additionally, there are overall Corporate Awards given to cars on an overall level of all 300 invited. Randy and Suzie Morgan won the beautiful Fashion Trophy looking sharp with their Goodwood/Esso overalls as they presented their freshly restored duo-green PA. It's rare for MG's to receive a Corporate Award as the other classes may include Silver Ghosts, Packards, Cadillacs, Big Buicks, Chryslers, Hispano Suizas...... you get the idea.

Very happy to unabashedly plug Safety Fast! Restoration for the complete restoration of all four of those Triple-M cars!

I hope you're not sorry you asked, George !!! Haha. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention all this would be impossible without help from many excellent UK vendors and you forum folks....

tommm in freezing cold northern Ohio where it should actually be getting rather warm by now.

PS in the background are the cars remaining from an Ed "Big Daddy" Roth collection of wild custom cars. Dunno how big he was in the UK but I remember sniffing glue over a few of his models in the 60's.

Hi Tom, Tom Wolfe was compulsory reading here in the sixties so we know about The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-flake Streamline Baby.
