Dear Spatek and Forum:

Nice period photograph.
Do you know car registration? Plus another information.
Numbers and details are the key.
All the best.

Unfortunately the Registration number does not appear in the Triple-M records.

The immediately preceding number OY 4080 is by co-incidence is the Registration number for J2469.

The photo came from the son of the late owner of the J2 so he does not remember the car and has no more details he says his father always carried that picture in his wallet and he has the Hallamshire club badge but there may be hope yet that the car survives.

Are you sure you didn't query OY 4080 rather than OY 4081, the car in the photograph? DVLA have no record of the latter as far as I can tell.

Simon and Forum:

Oh dear!!
Well spotted.
OY 4081 is not recognized by DVLA.
Object lesson in the devil is in the detail. Data bases too.
So another dead MG. RIP.
All the best.
