Adrian, do you know if the F-type flywheel housing is the same as the M-type etc?

It may also be worth contacting Cast Iron Welding see:

No connection; I have had welding done by them in the past.

I have just learned that an M-type flywheel housing is OK an F-type but due to the arrangement of the oil ways an F-type will not suit an M-type.

Adrian,

I wonder who told you your flywheel housing can’t be repaired ? Like Nigel I have had several badly cracked castings repaired and very successfully.

I have had repairs done both by welding and by the metal ‘stitching’ process.

Chris.

Hello, again, Adrian.

On further inspection of your picture I now see the damaged centre section. I’m pretty sure that the housing can be salvaged even if a new section was made, welded in and re machined.

Chris.

If the damage relates to the centre boss area then just drill and tap the grub screw hole at another position

The flywheel housing in the picture is only an example and not the one for Adrian's F-type.
