Someone has asked me if I could find out any info about their parents car. I'm not sure whether it is a TA or TC. Here is a picture...Any info on it would be appreciated...

The registration is C M J 567....many thanks in advance.

The picture was taken in 1946

Dear Thompson(?) and Forum:

The car probably is a TC. Based on date . Location docks?
Photographs quality is not the best.
Moving on to firmer ground the DVLA does not recognize the cars registration.
So it is no longer with us; off the road long term or
been exported.
Without more information -log book or chassis number that is where it must stop.
Personnel identification is the last hope for the moment.
All the best.

Have you also tried the MGCC T Type Register?

Dear Tom and Forum:

Result!
So many times these topics just hang in mid air.
If you email the Canadian/ North American MG TC clubs they may well
move the topic on.
There is no DVLA central register in USA or Canada so the clubs are the next move.
More background information would be a bonus,
I have always found them very friendly and helpful.
All the best.

Even further off topic...

I owned a TC in Singapore in 1967/8, SN2126. Went back a couple of years later and there were none left, there had been lots... quite extraordinary. It was as if some entrepreneur had bought the lot and shipped them out. I had to put up with a Ford Capri...

I always assumed they had gone to California but that might just be fanciful thinking...

Maybe the North American clubs can shed some light...

Cheers

P

Dear Peter and Forum:

I have never been to Singapore .
Your observations on the fate of the British cars of the period could be correct. The American MG car clubs might be worth a punt.
However , this is the low point of the British car manufacturing and spares would be harder to source combined with increasing age , I fear a more basic fated awaited them.
Is there a classic car club in Singapore ? Another line of research.
All the best.
