I am installing a new crown wheel and pinion in my 1932 J2. I've noticed that there are drawings of "Setting Jigs" in both, "MG Road Cars", by Malcolm Green and also in "The J2 Compendium" compiled by George Jarrand. They are different! Anyone know which is correct?

Sky,

I have such a gauge, but the setting would depend on what gear set you have. If you need to borrow it, let me know.

Lew, Thanks for the offer. I've made one as per The J2 Compendium but I found the one in M.G. Road Cars and was surprised they were different. I'll persevere with it. Bluing the gears will indicate how they mesh.
