I am curious whether all J models used steel or aluminum for the cycle wings. Am I correct that J1 and J2 used steel? Did J3 and J4 use steel or aluminum?

Thanks to all the serious experts we have out there.

Brent,
J3762 (middle of the run of J3's) definitely are steel.

Cheers,
Ed

As are all the art-deco J1 wings, Brent.

OK, while on the cycle wing subject, did all J2 front wings have strengthening "rain channels" along the inner edges and front edge "scuppers" like the swept wings?

It's a nice touch and thought perhaps it was done later when the headlamps were moved toward center and forward in attempt to keep occupants drier....

Thanks Ed and John, looks like the J1, J2, and J3 were all steel. Someone else will need to comment on Tom's question because I am still learning.

Cheers,

Brent
