Is there a register of axle no’s and, if so, can it be accessed?
My apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.
Thanks
David

Not for as far as I know.
But in the first few pages of the printed register a nice explanation is given about which numbers you can find where (front axle is suppose to have the model number and A serial number)

Id be interested if you find any relevance of the axle casting numbers, or way to connect these to a chassis number.

Thanks,

Westly.

I realise that this thread is about front axle numbers or number types. Purely as a matter of interest the record card for each triple-M car produced did record the serial number of the rear axle. That information exists in the individual files of each car which are held in the MGCC archive at Abingdon. As far as I know no attempt has been made to gather all such information together in one place.
