Hi Ian
I'm planning to take my NB four seater along to Prescott and would be delighted to partake in the parade if you are still in need of an NB.

Looking forward to the event especially as I cant make Peter's Summer gathering this year.

Per an e-mail sent to Dick last week, we have had to cancel the lunchtime MG cavalcade. There are several reasons for this, which include the consequences of new restrictions put in place by the BOC for 2019.

But now the good news!

Entry update, including three entries added this morning:

1933 MG J2 Dr. Mike Gardiner
1929 MG M David Rolfe (VMR)
MG J2 John Scott
1930 MG M Stephen Lloyd (VMR)
1933 MG J3 Ed Taylor
MG NB William Abbott
1932 MG J2 George Morgan

This brings us to 69 MMM entries so far. And with 89 total entries for Sunday so far (nav rally and scenic tour), I've added a second Sunday lunchtime pub, so entries remain open for both days.

Mike Dalby just told me that there were 22 M Types at the 75th Anniversary. We currently have 19 for the 90th at Prescott, so we're looking for FOUR more, with just under four weeks to go!

Entries remain open for all.

Quick update. John Hicks forwarded all the tickets for entries received so far yesterday and I have heard from some that they have received their tickets this morning. Entries remain open, as we have an excellent late-ticketing system.

And this morning the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight confirmed their slot for the Hurricane. Hurricane IIc P7865 will arrive over Prescott at 1542 hrs, flown by the RAF Conningsby Station Commander Mark Flewin who first solo'd on the Hurricane this April as the new Station Commander. P7865 was the last Hurricane ever built.

Mark is autographing two copies of James Holland's definitive RAF Centenary book, 'RAF 100', for us. One will become a prize in our raffle in aid of the RAF Charitable Trust, and the other will be awarded to the Air Cadet who sells most raffle tickets in the morning on the day (the draw will take place directly after the auction in the lunch break).

In other news, we just hit 240 entries and have a number of vintage bikes about to enter. Just 17 days before we fly to London - all good stuff!

If Richard Buckley from Oldham is on the forum, I received your J2 entry this morning and have posted your tickets to you from Seattle - should be with you in about a week.

This will be the last entry I ticket from here. Any more entries will be ticketed from Gotherignton.

Pre-War Prescott is two weeks today!

We fly to London Tuesday week, arriving at Heathrow Wednesday morning and heading for our rented cottage in Bredons Norton, which will become VMR Base Camp for the weekend. We'll be gathering with early arrivers at the Gardeners Arms at Alderton, just north of Prescott off the B4077 on Friday evening to kick the weekend off. Everyone most welcome. Can't wait for my first pint of Doombar for a year!

Everyone who has entered has now been ticketed but entries remain open at http://prewarprescott.com/?page_id=161 – we’re awfully slick at handling late entries and ticketing. However, if you simply can’t make a decision until the day, you can pay at the gate which opens at 9 a.m.

Ian. The "J2" entered by George Morgan is in fact a much more rare J3 and arguably the rarest of the rare. It is chassis number J3756 which George Eyston took to Montlhery in January 1933 to break a few international speed records. Helped out by Tommy Wisdom and Bert Denly the car ran for 24 hours at an average speed of 70.61 mph. It went to Australia in 1934 and George has brought it back to the U.K. for a little holiday to keep Ed Taylor's J3 (J3762) company.

Morning Colin. Thanks for the correction.

Up early this morning here in Seattle. Had a 4.6 quake at 2-51 this morning then a 3.6 aftershock. Very noisy. Epicentre about 12 miles from the house and 13 miles down. Power outages around the area and a few cracks but nothing seriously thank God but the dog fell off the bed! Two hours after - still got chills. VERY unsettling.

Correction to the entry list above. Barry's car is a genuine J4, NOT a rep! Apologies Barry.

What a cracking day, Ian. Many thanks.

Definitely a case of the right crowd and no crowding. And the J2 finally made it at its fourth attempt!

Sorry, "No Crowding" I could not disagree more.

No more PWP for me if we are going to see that many cars.

And I really feel sorry for the people who ended up going up the hill in convoys because of no time left.

Well that is my impression of the day anyway.

Regards

Tim

A huge thanks to all those involved with orgainising this year's Prescott Pre-War day.

Special thanks to the many folk that allowed me to take photos of various details of their cars for my own espionage reasons.

...And a very personal and heartfelt 'thank you' to Simon Johnston for giving up much of his time talking to me and allowing me a good look at his J, not to mention that excellent excellent article in the event's Programme - a fascinating read!
