Simon. Fantastic to read Michael Marshall words. He also mentions those special headlights !. The colour was two tone grey when l bought it from somebody in the Bolton area.

I would love to know who Michael sold it to because he would , almost certainly ,be tthe person l bought it off. I think he was possibly a mill owner or son of as it was kept in the workshop of a big mill in Lancashire. I had the ex-Lund also at the time and both cars were weighed on the mills weighbridge.
Is it possible to ask Michael who he sold it to ? I would very much like to know .

Michael Marshall, 1955-1958, Belfast and Bolton, England 1958-1960
Ray Masters 1960-1961
Peter Welch, West Vancouver, BC, Canada (current owner)

I clearly remember seeing an Airline in a scrapyard not far from Belfast, in the late fifties. My father dismissed it as being too far gone to restore, so I assume that was "one that got away', rather than the car we are discussing on this thread.
Then again, when faced in 1966 with a choice between a rusty C type and a slightly less rusty J2, he opted for the J2, rather than the C type, which is now performing rather well in MMM racing... C'est la vie!
