Sometimes you have to take risks, and the risk I am running here is of jumping the gun by giving you an early insight into the Register's plans for our 90th anniversary celebrations at Silverstone next June.

2019 marks the 90th anniversary of the date when Triple-M production commenced. The Register committee has a number of plans in hand to celebrate this momentous anniversary during 2019 and we will be telling you about them over the next few weeks.

Silverstone!
The minute we mention Silverstone some of you may feel the urge to switch off, but please read on .......!

We have agreed special treatment with the MG Car Club so we can make make a bit of a splash for the Register at Silverstone. To start with - and this is the reason for this message - our target is to get 90 triple M cars to the event on Saturday 15th June. We are promised pride of place on Copse Runway slap bang in the middle of the main event focal point.

The Register itself will have a large marquee and display in the newly regrouped Club village at this very location. Here is the provisional image of what the layout may look like, but please bear in mind it is still only provisional.

Other events are planned not only for Saturday - the main day - but also for Sunday 16 June when we have the opportunity for members to bring along their cars for a non damaging Triple-M Autosolo event for up to 50 cars. On the same day the California Cup will be in full swing, so you can choose which to support.

We are also planning to offer concessionary entry prices for those of you who are MG Car Club members who bring their Triple-M car to Silverstone.

We've also asked for an enhanced slot for circuit parade laps.

But back to the original purpose of this e-mail: please would you let us know whether you would would be interested in bringing your Triple-M car to MG Live! and be part of the 90 car display on Saturday 15th June. You can reply here or send me an e-mail to richard.morbey@gmail.com or just pick up the phone and call me on 01494 883112. You can be sure that the committee will be working its socks off to make the most of this occasion and with your help it will be a fantastic success.

I thank you!

Is there still the sprint on the Sunday? I'm sure they would welcome some more Triple-M competitors :)

Colin, apparently the sprint will not be happening in 2019. The NW Centre which has usually run it is not able to do so next year. Also, the Stowe circuit that it operates on has been leased to Aston Martin and the cost of accessing it is c. £16k. So the Club has decided to pause for 2019 and review for 2020

We discussed this at t'committee on Sunday, because the Club thought we might like to have a MMM 90th Sprint. A very nice idea, but in addition to the above there is a further issue for us in that many of our speed merchants sorry, competitors would find it too much of a stretch, what with everything else that is going on in racing nowadays.

I hope to have MY 1807 on the road by then, but I shouldn't count my chickens before they are hatched. There's many a slip 'twix cup and lip.

Progress report:
We have a meeting with a Vice President of the Club soon to finalise our plans for the many and various attractions The Register plans to organise at Silverstone. This will be just one of many events and promotions through which we'll be celebrating the 90th anniversary of the start of Triple-M production this year- keep your eyes peeled for details.

And to concentrate minds we even have a logo!
