Back to the picture location. It isn't too far south, and doesn't look tidal so thats maybe the Rhine?

Quite right we were at Remagen famous for its bridge destroyed in the Second World War, and also the birth place of Rudolph Carraciola. We were going to a rally organised by the German MG car club. It was a great holiday




This real barrel is now a restaurant. But originally Hitler was going to have it filled with wine to give all his troops a drink when he won the war.
