Solely in the interest of publicising a fellow Brightonian could I mention that "that Tommy Wisdom" also was involved in one of the most historic Triple M events of its day when he co-drove J3756 with George Eyston and Bert Denly at Montlhery in December 1932 in setting up long distance International 750cc records including 24 hours at a speed of 70.61 mph.
For the record, a local vintage car club member responded to my query on this photo in our club Newssheet and sent me this picture from his father's collection of pre war motoring memorabilia!
The occasion was the September 1936 race at Phoenix Park in Dublin which was won by Walter Furey in his N Type. We don’t know which car it was as he apparently bought it secondhand in England the previous year having sold his NE engined ND which he had previously raced.
Andrew Hutchinson, of course, was the winner of the Limerick Grand Prix in 1936 in PB0648 now campaigned by Simon Jackson and presumably he was competing in The Park in this car.
Flt. Lt. Briggs was by this stage racing K3020
Malcolm Fleming (sitting on the front near side of the M.G.) was racing PA0456 now owned by Bob Thredder
At the moment I don’t know which car McComb was driving.
