TJ1027- Lancashire registration.
DVLA have it as a 1933 MG Magna so looks like it does exist somewhere.

Probably some blue -eye from C.I.D. got the job to travel down to collect it !

I think these L types were popular with Lancashire Forces, I had an ex Preston Police L1 a long time ago.

Cheers,

Chris

I notice the car has a bonnet strap. I do not think the Police would have such an extra so I guess it was ex-Police when the photo was taken.

It could well be the car was returned to the works for servicing?

The wheel nuts appear to be painted or protected with something.

Never heard of a boo net strap George !

Hello Sven.

The hood could have been modified to enable big burly policemen or their prisoner(s) into the rear seats !

Cheers,

Chris

The right hand front wing looks as if it is at a very different height compared to the left hand one. Perhaps the car is being taken for repair.

Good suggestion. They would cerainly not fit under the original type hood. And a divided rear window to prevent break-outs?

Regards
Sven

Sven and Forum:

Have just checked TJ1027 does appear in Register 2018/2019-Paper version.
But not before.
So there has been update to that part of the list.
How comprehensive is a question for Nick and Co.
All the best.
