George is right. I did not succeed in buying the car. I am still attempting to get the chassis number and new owner's contact info. It has always been a dream of mine to do an NA or NB, so when this one came around for that price, I jumped in with both feet in an attempt. Having lost out, I'm somewhat relieved, as that car would require a tremendous investment in time and money. Just replacing those instruments alone would be a major investment.

So, I'm happy with my recent purchase of 2M1281. That's a little less of a project that I think I can handle.

Lew, Dick and Forum:

Can't help getting negative feeling with this one.
Ok, is rare.
Will require a owner with real commitment.
Lew sums up my point most neatly.
All the best.

Hi Lew - that little M type is a real gem.

I restored NA0960 (which was in a sorry but original state) to it's original 2 seat body spec and can confirm it was a big undertaking. There is a lot of timber and skinning the frame with that swage line etc required a lot of time and skill. I was very lucky in having the services of a vary able person who did a brilliant job. All the body lines were spot on.

I like the white rubber bumpered B.

I'm sorry for you Lew, better luck next time. I am amazed how often projects still come up for sale - two years ago I thought I had obtained the last one.

What was the VIN?
