If anyone has one of these surplus to requirements that they would be prepared to sell, even if its only the part which is screwed to to the timber frame I would be very interested. Cheers, Mike.

I may be able to help but I need to venture out and plumb the depths; I will check and post a picture if I can find one/some.
This would only be the bit that screws into the wood though. |

Hello Nigel, The bit that screws to the body frame would be fine, as you can see from the picture the original countersunk screw holes in mine have been "butchered" by some vandal in the past. The actual latch part seems ok and I could possibly replace the silentbloc bush with new. look forward to hearing from you when you have had the opportunity to "plumb the depths". Kind Regards, Mike.

I have paddled in the shallows, but having made the mistake of doing a spot of tidying up a few weeks ago, it was not where I had visualised it. I will put on the deep diving gear and dredge further in the next few days. |

These are the same as the TC so should be available new from most suppliers.

Mike, if you can confirm they are indeed the same as the T-type ones then I have plenty to choose from out my pile of TC parts. These are Silent Travel one's and usually logo'd to show that

I don't think they are like TC ones. They will be the same as J2 which was replaced on early P Types, the replacement continuing on Ts, presumably including the TC.
I think I may have one but unlike Nigel I will probably need a diving bell to find it; don't hold your breath!

The TC ones have a wedge in the A pillar part. SOME J2 ones have a hook shaped piece that engages in a hole in the lock. However, this one LOOKS like the wedge. In either case, the base plates are the same.

Thanks everyone for your responses and searches. I think Dave and Lew are correct regarding the difference between the J2/L2 part and the similar TC part. Its possible the bit in question for the TC, although slightly different, might do the job however Andy's offering is just what I'm looking for. Thanks Andy will be in touch shortly. Cheers! Mike.
