Evening all! Attached is a picture of my wife's late grandfather, who was commissioned into REME and fought against the Japanese in the Far East. He is front of what I think is an MG PA. Its registration is AXW 958. Is there any information on the fate of this car? Best regards Paul.

Paul, thanks for the picture. Regrettably we do not know which car has/had that registration number...

Picture would have been taken upon call up circa 1939...

If it was a new car, it could be a TA

I think the brake drums look to be too big to be those of a TA which were, I think, 9”

You are correct, the TA had 9" hydraulically operated drum brakes. The radiator screen looks dark which would indicate a PA although it is possible the PB slats were painted. The wheels certainly look side laced to me. Pity the image does not have more definition.
