A lady I work with has just inherited some pictures of her grandfather competing in what appear to be MG's/MG specials and she would love to know more about the cars and events (One looks like Brighton Speed trials?)

There is a possibilty that Photo No. 2 is Ken Wharburton in his MG engined Austin 7. It had previously run with an Austin 7 engine as in Car #33 in this picture...

Hi Chris

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for posting the photos.

The first car, JRV 209, looks like a J2 and the venue must be Brighton. Unfortunately there is no record of the Registration number in the files.
The car obviously went through a lot of development as shown in the second picture.
