PA2069 was purchased in 2007 from Jim Tatol of California. Starting in 2008, the car began its restoration. The entire rolling chassis has been restored by professionals – in most cases Leydon Restoration, Lahaska, PA. This includes axles, hubs, shafts, steering column and arms, clutch, transmission, brakes, shocks, drive shaft, etc. The dash was made by The Whitworth Shop in Ohio. All critical components were either crack tested or replaced with new. In addition, every component of the engine has been either rebuilt or replaced with new parts (where appropriate). The engine rebuild was performed by Chris Leydon of Leydon Restoration. The crank is a new Phoenix crank, Carrillo rods and pistons and every other aspect of the motor was gone over. The car was set up for a blower unit which is the next step in the restoration. A blower kit, for rebuild, previously purchased from the late Ron Grant may also be available. The car comes with the detailed receipts of the work performed as well as an extensive history of the car passed down from previous owners. Even though the engine has been built for modern fuels, only ethanol free gas has been used since engine rebuild. The car is run regularly but even so, has only less than 400 miles since restoration. The car runs and drives (and stops!) well. Car does not have the original chassis lubrication system. The radiator has been replaced with a modern core. In addition, the car comes with turn signals and all the lights work. The interior is from an older restoration and has bucket seats. Parts included with purchase are tonneau cover, top cover and original side screens. Additional pictures, a video and details can be provided as needed.
