I would like someone to buy this 1932 MG J2 as a project as nearly all the parts are there other than the metal work for the tub, the small section of radiator grill behind the MG badge and two L shaped brackets securing the rear of the tub. However it might well be that the component parts are worth more if sold individually but that would be a bit of a shame. The car J3262, engine 2113AJ and Carbodies No 423 21-4-33 had an MOT and was in working order when I bought it many years ago but the body work was very poor. Hence I stripped it down and bought a new jig assembled tub from Enrico Llinares in the Lake District who has made many J2 tubs. I also have a second dashboard, new exhaust system, new wiring loom and some new electrical instruments. It also has a spare crankshaft which I think might be the better ones enthusiasts like to fit. The chassis has been stripped, checked for straightness and repainted. The front axle has also been checked for straightness and correct caster angle. The leaf springs have been rebuilt. As with many rebuild projects, other interests and growing older have meant that I can't see an end in sight, but I am sure an enthusiastic MG man would love this car and this project. Note that I have ‘soft’ reassembled enough of it to simply aid its transportation. I believe I have realistically priced the car at £12,000 but I do want to sell it this year so offers might be considered as time progresses.
