Any condition, as long as it's restorable

Michael, you might already know this but earlier M-types had wheels with centres like the example on the left and later examples had wheel centres like the example on the right.
There is much to be said for finding a good centre and asking Tony Margel to build it up with a new rim and spokes painted to the colour of your choice.

The centre of the wheel on eBay seems to be sound but the rest is of no value (except as 'wall art') .
It would be much better if the seller would cut the spokes and sell the centre on its own.
This is a quick and easy way to save money on postage.
And this is a safe and sound rebuilt wheel ready for painting.

I can probably help you with a wheel . I know I have some early pattern ones in my shed , all in need of a rebuild. If you are not already sorted , let me know and I will go and dig out the best . I am sure that at least one will have a good(ish) rim . |

I have two Triumph Super 7 wheels, which appear to be identical to early M type ones.
They have superb, unworn, Dunlop Universal tyres on them which must be at least 50 years old, unworn, uncracked - worthy of museum exhibit !
Anyone interested ? |

The ones on my car are the later type - anyone got one, or should I go the route Sam Christie suggests?

Don't forget that wheels often crack round the weld between the central cylinder and the rear flange,(I will post a picture when I dig the wheel from the back of the shed).
If the car is to be used in competition there are various methods by which the wheels can be strengthened at this point.
Save any "Morris" centres these are in demand, so many having been knocked out to make M type wheels! |

Curiously, the earlier hubs don't appear to suffer from this cracking. |
