Does anyone happen to have some thick-wall stainless tube suitable for joining the J2 front cycle wing stanchions - ie the tube that runs horizontally across the front of the radiator? I think it is 5/8 OD. I can only find thin wall tube on the internet.
Hello Nigel, You could try Durbin metal industries at Yate nr Bristol. They list stainless steel seamless tube ASTM A269/A213 in grade 316 or 304 316 being available in 16mm x 2mm wall 304 available in 5/8”x 16 SWG (1/16”). 16mm is only a few thou bigger than 5/8”. I am using 1.6 mm wall which is very rigid and up to the job. I suggest you phone first to see if they will supply a small quantity, then collect. The number to use for st steel is 01454 322668. Stainless comes in ground finish and will need polishing to look like chrome.
