Dan,
Do you mean the cotter pin used to secure the King Pin?

If so, I got mine from S&V.

Dan,
My cotter is threaded both ends, as item 18 & my photo.

Further, in your initial post, the identification of the pin size 7/16" dia is presumably taken from the main body diameter, so that with the chamfer of the cotter body the resulting diameter for the adjacent screw thread must be less, so I believe this is likely to be 3/8" BSF - sorry I'm too lazy to remove mine to check!

That's the way how steering lock is arranged on my N-type and also on other MMM's I have seen.

Hello, Gerhard.

Your post is well timed as I have just fitted a pair of brand new stub axles to a replacement axle for my N type. I am wondering where you had the protruding measurement of 10mm from. Was it as a result of trial and error or is the measurement listed somewhere ?

Many thanks,

Chris

Chris,
that protruding measurement I just took from the actual situation on my car.
I am sure that the ca.10mm are only partly relevant, as the amount of steering lock is depending also on the adjustment of the setting screw (the threaded hole is 17mm deep), and the thickness of the bolt's head.
Gerhard
