For some reason, probably creeping senility, I cannot find the PWP 2020 thread, so I might as well start a new one for PWP 2021, and I'm very excited to say that today, PWP 2021 is exactly 365 days hence! Saturday 17th July. However, since this will be the first gathering for two years, I'm working to add a number of special features including a third day's activities on Friday 16th, so I'm suggesting to those who are planning to attend, to plan to arrive on Thursday if coming from afar, and make local accommodation arrangements accordingly. More news on Friday when plans firm up.

Entries for PWP 2020 have been rolled over and new entries are invited. Right now we have 122 entries, including 14 MMM so far, and 283 climbs have already been allocated, so it might not be a bad idea to get your entry in and your climbs banked before I have to throttle down the number of climbs per entry.

You can enter at http://prewarprescott.com/?page_id=161 and the live entry list can be found at http://prewarprescott.com/?page_id=547.

Start counting the days!

Quick bit of news on PWP 2021. As this year's gathering had to be canceled, I want to make next year's weekend something special, so we are adding a third day - Friday 16th July. We will be visiting the Morgan Car Company in Malvern on Friday morning for a factory tour hosted by Ian Patton, lunching at The Swan Inn, Hanley Swan and then visiting the Westons Cider Mill at Much Marcle in the afternoon for a tour, tasting and cream teas before returning to the Prescott area for our traditional Friday evening pub reception. Full details, including prices, timings and booking arrangements will be added to the Pre-War Prescott website shortly.

In 1970 as a student in London I had a Morgan Plus Four and along with a pal who had a pre war Drop Head Coupé we turned up one Friday morning at the Morgan factory (his parents lived nearby) to try and get some parts. We cheekily asked if there was any chance of a look around the factory and were treated to a full tour by Peter Morgan himself. Happy days!

Very happy that Ian Patton will host our visit and factory tour. Ian is now Morgan's publicity manager but in 2010 he was the BOC secretary and Prescott general manager. It was he who asked me if I would like to expand our occasional Vintage Minor Register Prescott gatherings into an annual all-comers day for all pre-war cars. At the time there was no spare day in the (noise) limited Prescott calendar for 2011, but he canceled one of the driving school days to give us a day. Without Ian, there would be no Pre-War Prescott. I doubt he reads this, so I'd like to suggest, as this is going to be the tent anniversary PWP and also - because we lost this year - the tenth PWP, we make some sort of presentation to him on the day in thanks for what he has done for us. Perhaps suggestions by e-mail or PM to me?

Meanwhile, right now we have just 15 MMM entries for next year. I understand that many of you will be waiting for the 2021 motorsporting calendar to take shape before committing to PWP, and that is going to take some time. We currently have 125 entries and 290 climbs allocated - so only about 150 left. Once we get to 300 climbs, I'm going to have to throttle down the maximum number of pre-bookable climbs from the current two plus a free one to one plus a free one. And we are taking several measures to avoid the crush at the start line gate that we saw last year, including hiring extra Prescott marshals to organize the paddock.

Having said that, I have everything crossed that this current nonsense will be behind us and we can have an incredible weekend.

Dick, I assumed this might be a well-known car in the club. I will ask him. He also sent me many more photos.

A quick update. As of today we have 174 entries and 385 climbs allocated. So in the next few days, I will be reducing the number of pre-bookable climbs to zero. After that, entries will come with one free climb only. As Covid recedes, I am receiving an influx of entries, which is great to see. Total MMM entries right now are 25.

If you want two climbs of the hill, I strongly advise you to enter without further delay. You can enter online at http://prewarprescott.com/?page_id=161 and the live entry list can be found at http://prewarprescott.com/?page_id=547.

While it is now highly likely that the weekend will be able to go ahead, I also need to be able to get there to run it! That may include having to go into quarantine at a Heathrow hotel on arrival from Seattle for up to ten days, and I have drawn up contingency plans to do this. If necessary, I will change my flight to arrive earlier.

30 MMM entries and counting now.

I heard from the RAF Events Team this morning regarding our request for Battle of Britain Memorial Flight air support.

Here is the response from the RAF Events Team:

"Thank you for your email. Due to Covid restrictions many Events are changing dates, therefore our programme is still fluid, until we have a full picture we can’t confirm. However, we have allocated a Spitfire to your Event, I strongly suspect this will remain, but there is a slight possibility that one of the larger display events may move to your date. As soon as the programme is confirmed we will send out letters. Hope this helps, apologies for the late confirmations this year."

It must be a complete nightmare trying to schedule flights at such an unpredictable time. Much like the Battle of Britain, I suppose ...

Sorry we can't personally make it 31 this year, but already looking forward to next years event :)

No problem Colin - nobody can be in two places at the same time. We're actually up to 33 today, now that Vincent Dransart has his French raiders booked in.
