Hi Folks,
For J2 experts, what do you make of this color code?

If it’s J3333 it was originally cream and red, so sort of orange

Yuck. Not sure how O I becomes cream and red, Simon, but as you likely have the records and I don't, I'll take your word for it.... thanks. Rare colors, yes, but not the most pleasing J2 combination to my eyes.

Cream and red wasn’t a standard duotone colour scheme I don’t think so it must presumably have been a special order. I think with the right shades of colour it could look rather nice. YMMV

OI suggests Old Ivory?? . Old Ivory / Light Fawn was a duo tone combination on offer where the main colour was cream. I guess originally you could order any colour combination you wanted for an extra cost. Maybe only the predominant colour code was stamped on the bonnet hinge hence O I.

MBH records say Cream/Red/cream (presumably straight from the build records, so maybe even more complicated)? JH

Many years ago they liked their practical jokes at Abingdon and they they used to wind each other up.
One day, an order came in to the paint shop for a horrendous sounding cream and red J2. Recognizing that this was clearly a wind up old Fred (the foreman) rolled his eyes and said to himself "Oh Aye"
The rest, as they say, is history.
